The 'if it doesn't fit, you must acquit' line was a courtroom classic.
But I never really understood it. Because, quite obviously, the gloves DID fit him! He was pictured in the courtroom with the gloves on his hands, for all the world to see.
Sure, they were a bit tight and he squeezed them on. But I'm not sure that murderers - who, despite the Hannibal Lecter literature, are generally not a group of people who think too logically about their actions - really think all of that through.
If he genuinely couldn't have got the things on his giant hands then I'd get it. But he 100% showed that he could.
You could have just shown that jury a random picture of cheese - and pointed at it in silence while submitting it as evidence - and they'd have acquited OJ.
